Esta familia llamó al antiguo Fioroni para el fiorone que se crió en el arma: es oriunda de Mandello (Milán). En 1400 fue a establecerse en Ravenna con Pietro. Battista, su hijo, era coronel de infantería al servicio de la República de Venecia y se cubrió con el honor de merecer el puesto de Castellano della Rocca que en ese momento los venecianos erigieron en Rávena, además del rango de gobernador de la misma ciudad, y en 1641 tuvo el privilegio de exención de impuestos per se y sus descendientes.
