Antica famiglia, originaria di Piozzo, che si suddivise nei due rami di Fossano e di Savigliano. Il primo ramo, che ha per stipite Giovan Vincenzo, che fu vice auditore di guerra, vicario di Cuneo, consigliere e referendario a Cherasco, si estinse con Anna Margherita, che era figlia dell'avvocato Carlo Antonio. Il secondo ramo di Savigliano ascese al fastigio della nobiltà con l'avvocato Giovan Vincenzo, il quale fu infeudato di punti di Rosignano il 2 agosto 1757 e investito il 31 agosto col titolo comitale. Da costui nacque Cesare, che fu avvocato (premorto al padre, 4 giugno 1747). Dalle sue nozze con Margherita Richieri nacque Carlo Felice, che fu avvocato, e fu investito il 28 febbraio 1769. Da Carlo Felice discesero successivamente Cesare (nato Savigliano, 2 novembre 1812, defunto a Torino, 15 febbraio 1905), che fu ufficiale di cavalleria, ed Ernesto (nato a Torino, 4 ottobre 1847).
