Família antiga e nobre de Assis, que se destacou ativamente nas guerras entre esta cidade, Perugia e as outras áreas circundantes, que se espalharam pelo mundo ao longo dos séculos. Esta casa fazia parte da facção chamada "Parte di sotto" (= lado de baixo). Uguccione e Guido Fiumi, pai e filho, estavam entre os líderes mais ousados e temerosos, impondo seus "podesteria" mesmo no distante Orvieto. Ansiosos por comando e negócios, serviram sob as ordens de Braccio Fortebraccio, conde de Montone, o famoso capitão da fortuna em 1397 na luta contra Biordo Michelotti, reconquistando a terra perdida. Guido tornou-se magistrado chefe de Orvieto no ano de 1309; em 1381, Lello obteve o podesteria de Montefeltro e, em 1390, tornou-se capitão do povo em Todi; Merollino foi vigário real em Leonessa em 1342; Gentium Fiumi era o senhor de Sterpeto desde 1384; outro Guido militava sob as ordens do duque Francesco
