Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Jean, vivant en 1427 épouse Isabeau de Kerleynou; Bertrand, abbé de Sainte-Croix de Guingamp, mort en 1497; Pierre, conseiller au parlement en 1569; Jean abbé de Bégard, mort 1614; deux chevaliers de Saint-Michel depuis 1591; deux pages du Roi en 1753 et 1767; un capitaine de vaisseau en 1782, commandant la frégate l'Astrolabe, massacré par les sauvages dans l'expédition de la Pérouse en 1787, aïeul d'un vice-amiral en 1871 mort en 1886 et d'un contre-amiral en 1879. La branche de Carnavalet fondue dans d'Acigné: Florimond, seigneur de la Série, épouse vers 1580 Marie Bélier; un page de la Reine en 1750, maréchal des logis des gardes du corps en 1784, général dans l'armée vendéenne et maréchal de camp en 1814, mort en 1824; une fille à Saint-Cyr en 1752.
