Ancient family of Foligno, called Floriani or Floriano, to whose patriciate it was ascribed, since 1440, which spread over the centuries in different regions of Italy. Di Pietro Paolo Floriani, a very renowned doctor, who had been Podestà of Perugia and Rieti and who, in 1531, had been created Count Palatine, with all his descendants, there was an inscription in Foligno, in the Church of San Francesco, sepulchral, very honorable. Of Flavio Floriani, son of the previous one, we know that he occupied the honorable employment of Auditor of Wheel in Perugia and in Florence, and that he ceased to live in 1593, after having published some poems in the Tuscan and Latin language, as well as a Legal Commentary. Furthermore, Jacobili attests to us that the said Flavio owned a beautiful house in the Compagnia della Croce, probably, where the majestic Palazzo della Nobil Giusti family was built. The
