Antica famiglia di Veroli, dove era tra le più nobili. Gargano fu vescovo di Segni nel 1430, e Manilio vescovo di Alatri. Manilio podestà di Veroli. Curzio canonico di S. Pietro in Vaticano nel 1568 fu al Concilio Tridentino. Costanzo fu capitano; nel 1580 ottenne la cittadinanza romana con tutta la famiglia Pietro fu vescovo di Alatri e nobile romano sotto Gregorio XIII. Antonio nel 1582 fu fatto Conte Palatino e Cavaliere. Nel 1810 il ramo primogenito di questa fam., aggiunse per eredità il cognome e lo stemma de' Cavalieri. Il 13 settembre 1836 con Breve di Gregorio XVI fu riconosciuta Nobile Verulana. Il 13 maggio 1868 con Senato Consulto e in sostituzione della Nobile famiglia Curti, estinta, ebbe il Patriziato romano. Gio. Battista del comm.
