Con diploma 16 settembre 1625 l'imperatore Ferdinando II elevò alla nobiltà del Sacro Romano Impero Giovanni Francesco ed Ottavio in vista della illustrazione dei loro maggiori e dei loro meriti personali. Questa famiglia fu anche aggregata al Consiglio nobile di Verona. Antonio Giovanni e Giovanni Antonio di Carlo ebbero la conferma della nobiltà con Sovrana Risoluzione Austriaca 1 luglio 1819. Ai seguenti venne riconosciuta la nobiltà con Decreto Ministeriale 4 luglio 1904. Figli di Giuseppe e di Carolina Stappo: Giambattista, commendatore della Corona d'Italia, ing. sposato 26 febbraio 1881 con nob. Francesca Pontedera patrizia Pisana; da cui: Giuseppe, ufficiale Corona d'Italia, tenente colonello S.M. spos. 5 ottobre 1912 con bar. Maria Malfati di Monte Tretto; Giulio, ing. capitano d'Artiglieria compl., spos. 29 settembre 1913 con N. D. Giovanna Zorzi; Alessandro, spos. 20 maggio 1879 con Ersilia Tamburini; da cui: Giovanni, avvocato, croce di guerra e medaglia al merito di guerra,
