En la dedicatoria del Idilio, hecha al Senado de la ciudad de Leontini, se menciona el origen y paso a Sicilia de la familia F., que fue fundada en Leontini bajo Nicolò F. hidalgo Tarentino, descendiente de Aurelio F. Este último, desterrado por el rey Alfonso en 1417 por el pleito criminal que tuvo con la familia Protonobilissima, tomó como habitación la citada ciudad de Leontini, donde trajo a Francesco su hijo, que fue senador de aquella en 1431. Tampoco nació de Francesco, Antonio, que murió en 1488, y dejó una gran propiedad a sus hijos Vicenzo, Antonio, Simone, Pietro y Matteo. Vicenzo estaba casado con la noble familia Buonaiuto; y Simone se casó con Margarita, hija de Filippo Arbea, barón de Sauci. Los procreó con los ya mencionados Margarita Arbea, Francesco, Antonio, Matteo, Giovanni, Pietro y Antonello. Tampoco nació igualmente de los prenarrados Vicenzo F., Giovanni F. y Buonaiuto.
