Ancienne et très noble famille napolitaine, de vertu claire et ancestrale, répartie au cours des siècles dans diverses régions d'Italie. Il a joui de la noblesse dans la littérature, Lecce et Naples, où il a été attribué au Patriciat napolitain du Seggio di Montagna et, après l'abolition des sièges, il a été inscrit dans le Livre d'or napolitain. La famille aussi, en 1691, portait l'habit de Malte, avec un Fabrizio, Balì di Santo Stefano. En 1285, Tommaso était inquisiteur des seigneurs féodaux sous le roi Charles II d'Anjou ; Messer Andrea, appelé Carlino Francone de Naples, a empalé la noble Antonia de Lettere; Claudio a demandé et obtenu la réintégration au Siège de la Montagne au Conseil Royal Sacré; Paolo, époux de Vittoria Sanfelice des ducs de Bagnoli, devint marquis de Salcito en 1654 ; Excellent, marquis de Salcito, marié à Donna Feliciana Dentice, veuve de Don Francesco de Silva
