We think it superfluous to report in full the fairy tales that arose in the fifteenth century and widely propagated by the compliant genealogical friars of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries (Panvinio, Van der Steen, Pucci, Schönleben, Pasconi, etc.) on the origins of this illustrious Friulian family, who wanted to derive, together with the Frangipane of Rome, while these were given as ancestors as nothing less than the Tarquinii and the Anicii of ancient pagan and Christian Rome.
