Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Geoffroi, écuyer de la compagnie de Pierre de Rostrenen au siège de Brest en 1373; Alain, rend hommage au vicomte de Rohan, en 1396; Riou, homme d'armes, armé pour le recouvrement de la personne du duc en 1420; Geoffroy, appelé à la montre de 1469 à Quintin, excusé, pour ce que le sire de Quintin a dit qu'il étoit de sa maison; Louis, archer à la montre du maréchal de Rieux, reçue à Saint-Quentin en Vermandois en 1505. La branche de Crénihuel fondue vers 1616 dans Rogon; la branche de Kervégant fondue dans Geoffroy. Les seigneurs Coatparquet, paroisse de Goarec, de même nom et armes, ont produit: Jacques, fils de Louis et de Louise le Bris, sénéchal des juridictions de Robien, la Villemainguy et la Coste, marié en 1701 à Marie Rouault.
