Eine der ältesten und berühmtesten Familien der Stadt Ravello, deren Vorfahren auf einen Bären zurückgehen, lebte um 1100. Sie gehörte 1420 zu den Adelsfamilien dieser Stadt, die von Königin Giovanna II. Von der Zahlung von Steuerbelastungen befreit waren. Von Ravello zweigte er nach Sessa, Tropea, Nola, Manfredonia, Barletta und Trani ab und genoss überall die Ehre des Adels. In Neapel wurde es dem Nido-Sitz hinzugefügt. Es wurde ab 1596 im Gerosolimitano-Orden aufgenommen; es wurde Castellabate, Macchia, Serramezzana und zahlreichen anderen Ländern gegeben. Giovanni war 1217 Erzbischof von Manfredonia; Marino, Stadtrat von Sommaria, berühmter Rechtsberater, Autor der Abhandlung De suffeudis; Andrea: nahm an der Schlacht von Lepanto teil und erhielt 1572 den Titel eines Herzogs, der 1575 dem Lehen von S. Felice auferlegt wurde; Albina war die Frau des Prinzen von Massa, Francesco Toraldo, der bei der Abneigung gegen Masaniello getötet wurde.
