Un Cristoforo fu professore nell'università di Parigi, confessore di Claudia regina di Francia, generale di tutta la religione serafica, creato cardinale di S. R. Chiesa da Leone X. Nicola, di lui fratello, fu investito dallo stesso pontefice del dominio temporale di Bertinoro. Luffo nel 1448 fu consigliere intimo dei principi Pino III Ordelaffi e Girolamo Riario; legato di papa Sisto II alla Repubblica di Venezia, venne dall'imperat. Federico III creato conte del S.R.I. con tutta la sua discendenza; Antonio nel 1537 ambasciatore straordinario alle primarie corti di Europa, e commissario generale con autorità assoluta dei pontefici Leone X, Adriano VI e Clemente X, fu per invidia, da ignota mano, assassinato all'assedio del castello di Milano.
