Very ancient and noble family, originally from Veneto, also called Gaiott or Gaius because of the usual causes of the dialectal pronunciation and the way of interpreting the surnames in the scripture, of which the following information is taken from the Italian Noble Historical Encyclopedia of the Marquis Vittorio Spreti . Originally from the Veneto region, where it was probably ascribed to that nobility. We have memory of the lineage since the past centuries and there are evidences in archives and registries about the presence of the members of the lineage or of some characters related to it in the territory where it lived. Moreover, from the reading of the Blazon which turns out to be: Truncated from red to gold star, and gold, it is possible to have certainty of the importance reached by this family whose illustrious ancestors knew, centuries ago, to rise to the rank of nobles. In a noble weapon, colors, like the symbols represented, have a remarkable meaning. In this case red represents love for God and justice as well as conspicuous nobility, domination, revenge, audacity, courage, bloodshed in war and ardent desire being the first among the colors of the weapon. The crown is formed by a circle of pure gold, veiled, guilloche, brumid at the edges, supporting eight large pearls around, of which five visible, placed on the circle.
