Ancient family ascribed to the Doria hotel in 1528; originally from Ventimiglia, often confused with the Galliani family with which it has proximity to the place of origin, so it is not certain to which of the two families the oldest characters mentioned by genealogists belong. Different is the coat of arms and several hotels where families entered in 1528. In 1193 and 1203 Ingone was consul of the city. In 1222 Simone was one of the eight nobles of the Podestà. In 1451 Onorato obtained a decree to live in the city. In 1490 Giovanni, a corsair, took two Genoese boats to Sicily and in the same year he was taken prisoner by Guglielmo Magnerio. Marcantonio (1525-1574) of Nice was admiral of Emanuele Filiberto.
