Antica e nobile famiglia lombarda, con residenza a Lomello e Pavia, nel Vogherese, di chiara e ancestrale virtù, che si è diffusa in tutto il mondo, nel corso dei secoli. Questa casa è uno dei rami dei famosi Conti Palatini di Lomello e ha goduto dei seguenti titoli nobiliari: Conti di Montesegale, Conti di Gambarana con San Martina La Mandria (Lomellina), Signori di Donelasco, Conti Palatini (maschi), nobili patrizi di Milano e Pavia (maschi). Filippo, di Pavia, fu vicario di Savona nel 1330, dove sposò Pierina Barba. Beltramo, nel 1396, fu ambasciatore del duca di Orleans; Il dottor Giacomo nel 1403, vicario dell'esercito genovese in Oriente, commissario nel 1403 per il re di Francia, ambasciatore a Costantinopoli nel 1414 e ambasciatore nell'imperatore Sigismondo, da cui nel 1414 fu creato il Conte palatino ereditario, con la conferma di l'antico stemma; Giovanni fu professore di legge a Pavia nel 1428; Raffaele fu
