E'l primo di lei fù Abbo B. cavaliero di molta autorità, e valore il quale abborrendo l'otio, avido di gloria militare, passò di Francia in Italia con i Principi Normanni, e quivi s'impiegò a' serviggi del nostro gran Conte Roggiero nell'acquisto dell'afflitta Sicilia, ove mostrò contra Barbari signalato valore di guisa tale, che non solamente s'acquistò la perpetua benevolenza del Conte, ma anche le Terre di Baso, di Ucria, ed altri Castelli, hebbe egli per moglie Ademara figlia del Conte d'Aversa, che ne nacquero Giovanni, Roggiero, e Ramoaldo. Il Giovanni si casò con Alvira seconda figlia
