In un patto di alleanza fra Brescia Cremona, Bergamo e Parma del 1206, esistente nell'Archivio di Cremona, figura tra i molti Consiglieri bresciani un Giroldo "de Masperono". In quel tempo, e precisamente nel 1220 il 27 maggio sul "Liber Poteris" bresciano è nominato il castello di Roccafranca fondato e poi posseduto dai fratelli Lanfranco, Umberto, Giroldo, Pietro e Giovani figli di Adamo Masperoni da Chiari. In questa città, del territorio bresciano, fiorì questa antichissima famiglia, che, come si è visto, appare in modo certo al principio del 1200. Dopo Giroldo parecchi sono gli uomini che si distinsero, soprattutto nella vita agitata della provincia bresciana dei secoli XIV e XV.
