Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Julien, seigneur de l'Epinardière, époux en 1450 d'Adenelle de Saint-François, de la maison du Ronceray, paroisse de Marigné, auteur des seigneurs du Tertre-Vallière, établis en Bretagne, qui ont produit un lieutenant-général au siège de Ploërmel en 1597, dont les descendants se sont éteints depuis 1744; des seigneurs de la Brillaudière et du Boisdomer, en Touraine, éteints, qui ont produit quatre maires de Tours de 1586 à 1629 et deux évêque de Marseille en 1639 et 1640. Les seigneurs de Beauchesne, paroisse du Theil, de la Galmandière, paroisse de Châteaubourg et de Bonneval, de même nom et armes, remontent à Antoine, procureur fiscal de la châtellenie du Theil, mort en 1619 et ont produit deux substituts du procureur-général au parlement de Rennes depuis 1718 et un général de brigade, baron de l'Empire, mort à Dantzick en 1813.
