As famílias de Zennari ou Gennari eram evidentes em Pádua, de onde devem ter migrado para Chioggia em tempos antigos, pois já encontramos um Martino Gennari em uma transação de 1049 que ocorreu entre os Orseoli e o município de Chioggia para pescar naquele território. E sempre nos documentos mais antigos essa família é mencionada, mas não está incluída entre as que permaneceram no Concílio em 1401. No entanto, os quatro irmãos Gennari Giuliano, Pietro, Giacomo e Francesco são posteriormente anexados aos Concílios de 1475. Desta família originou-se a dos famosos tipógrafos e outra que se trouxe para Chipre naquela Corte e aí surgiu. Tornio de Gennari em 1395 foi juiz nas Chancelarias do Rei de Chipre e em 1396 viveu em Pádua. O mesmo então se tornou Conde Palatino e em 1400 Embaixador do Rei de Chipre.
