Ancient and noble Italian family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. This noble family is actually of ancient Spanish origin and its first members were part of the military orders of Santiago, Calatrava, Alcántara, Montesa, Carlos III and Saint John of Jerusalem. Between the 14th and 15th centuries, a branch of this family went to the Kingdom of Sicily and set up residence in Lentini and Mazzara. There, sometimes under the name of Girolamo (di), it took possession of the fiefs of Sabuci and Limuni, the latter of which was still in the family at the time of the abolition of feudalism.
