Antica e nobile famiglia siciliana, con residenza principale a Messina, di chiara e ancestrale virtù, che si è diffusa in tutto il mondo, nel corso dei secoli. La nobile nobiltà della Camera è confermata dalla presenza del suo blasone nella preziosa opera "Il Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti" dello scrittore e araldista italiano Giovan Battista di Crollalanza (19 maggio 1819 - 8 marzo 1892), pubblicato a Pisa in tre volumi tra il 1886 e il 1890. Inoltre, questa famiglia, in tutte le età, si è sempre distinta, grazie alle figure di spicco, che hanno dato alla luce, nel servizio pubblico, nelle professioni liberali e in il servizio militare. Tra questi, senza sottovalutare gli omessi, ricordiamo: Abizo, giurato a Messina, nel 1319; Luigi, giurato a Messina, nel 1492; Giacomo, proprietario terriero in Sicilia, fiorente nel 1501; Federico, soldato reale, residente a Messina nel 1534; Pietro
