Famiglia derivata da' Goti di Navarra, ed una delle più antiche e nobili della Spagna, dove al dir del Villabianca à occupato le primarie cariche come di maggiordomo maggiore, commendatore di Castiglia, dell'ordine di S. Giacomo, di vicerè, generale ecc. diramandosi ne' marchesi di Los Veles ne' conti di Casarubias, ne' duchi di Arcos, ne' marchesi di Penuela, ne' conti di Mejorada in Sivilia, nei conti di Molina in Malaga, e ne' signori Chacon di Antequera in Andalusia. Ebbe principio in Palermo coi fratelli Giuseppe e Bernarndo Chacon nell'anno 1630. Il Giuseppe fu visitatore generale, deputato del regno nel 1661, ed infine governatore della piazza di Trapani; il Bernardo, cavaliere di S. Giacomo della Spada, generale dell'artiglieria di Sicilia nel 1658, deputato, ed infine vicario generale del regno. Un Tommaso fu commissario generale della cavalleria del regno di napoli 1676, signore e perpetuo amministratore dei maggioraschi e patronati di Salinas,
