Famiglia genovese di cui si ànno certe memorie fino dal secolo XII sapendo che un Filippo Longo fu console in patria della repubbllica. I suoi discendenti coprirono eminenti cariche, e diversi furono elettori, anziani consiglieri, riformatori e ambasciatori. Nel 1485 si trapiantò in Sicilia, ove Pietro di Iacopo fu castellano di Castronovo, Domenico acquistò i feudi di Fiumetorto e di Ragiasciacca, e ne portò il titolo baronale 1666; Antonino investito de' feudi di Fiumetorto e Ragiasciacca 1694; Ignazio invstito 1734, senatore di Palermo 1754; ed infine Bernardo investito 1760.
