Famiglia originaria di Zante, già ammessa alla nobiltà di quell'isola nel 1804, con decreto del rappresentante della repubblica Settinsulare nelle persone di Niccolò e Giorgio, di Attanasio. I figli del predetto Niccolò, Giovanni e Pantaleone, ottennero poi la nobiltà fiesolana con sovrano decreto del 2 febbraio 1840. La bibliografia di questa famiglia viene menzionata dal Marchese Vittorio Spreti, nella sua Enciclopedia Storico-Nobiliare Italiana stampato in Milano nel 1936. Raccogliendo manoscritti di contenuto araldico e nobiliare-genealogico, tra le biblioteche ed in moltissimi archivi pubblici e privati. Le testimonianze e i documenti raccolti per la formazione dell'opera in questione sono state trasmesse dalla famiglia stessa. Così come risulta dalla Rivista Araldica edita dal Collegio Araldico di Roma. menti utili alla scoperta di questa famiglia.

D'azzurro, all'aquila bicipite d'argento, coronata e diademata d'oro, tenente con gli artigli uno scettro d'oro a destra e una spada alta d'argento a sinistra; con la campagna d'argento, caricata di una crocetta patente di nero, sormontata da una stola sacerdotale d'oro, appesa in fascia.

Blasone della famiglia Giamari; fonte: "Raccolta Ceramelli Papiani" custodita presso l'archivio di stato di Firenze fasc.5704. Note: Da notare che l'aquila così descritta sarebbe in tutto un'aquila imperiale, se non fosse per gli smalti diversi. Si tratta di una famiglia originaria della Grecia, esattamente dell'isola di Zante, trasferitasi a Livorno e poi a Firenze. Giovanni e Pantaleone Giamari, banchieri a Livorno, furono ammessi alla nobiltà fiesolana nel 1840.
