Nel 1733 un Biagio tenne la carica di proconservatore in Calascibetta; un Luigi, da Mazzarino, con privilegio del 6 aprile 1776 ottenne il titolo di barone di S. Caterina; un Domenico fu procuratore fiscale del tribunale della Gran Corte e acquistò da Domenico Tedeschi e Gallego il titolo di marchese, del quale ottenne investitura a 12 febbraio 1785; un Ferdinando, figlio di Domenico predetto, venne investito del titolo di marchese a 5 dicembre 1785; un barone Luigi a 17 ottobre 1835 ottenne dal senato di Palermo un attestato di nobiltà. Altro ramo. Famiglia nobile palermitana. Fu primo stipite in Palermo un Francesco Giarrizzo di Pietraperzia dottore in legge, dichiarato cittadino palermitano con diploma del 1652 e con altro del 1662 riconosciuto nobile ascritto nell'ordine senatorio. Da tal diploma rilevasi che tal famiglia prese nome dagli antichi possessori d'un territorio chiamato Giarrizzo o sia Giovanni Rizzo, in val di Mazzara. Dal
