Antica ed assai nobile famiglia di origine trentina, signora della Villa di Campi presso Riva di Trento, la quale fu dichiarata Nobile di Polonia, per diploma imperiale 12 settembre 1683, in persona di Giacomo Gioppi, per atti di valore del medesimo effettuati sotto le mura di Vienna assediata dai Turchi nel 1683. Sul principio del secolo XIX, la famiglia si trasferì a Mantova ed a Padova. Con Decreto Regio di motu proprio 25 dicembre 1892, i componenti della casata ebbero la concessione del titolo di conte, con trasmissibilità ai maschi primogeniti. Ramo primogenito: Cesare, nato Mantova il 29 ottobre 1849, dottore in legge, avvocato ufficiale Mauriziano e della Corona d'Italia, di Giovanni e di Teresa Pellicelli Fiera (Mantova). Ramo secondogenito: Gioppi di Turkheim. Ebbe il riconoscimento del titolo di nobile dei conti con Decreto Ministeriale 8 marzo 1893, e con Decreto Regio 8 novembre 1892, fu autorizzato ad aggiungere il
