Suo fratello cavaliere Paolo fu membro del Consiglio Superiore della Banca d'Italia e del Consiglio di Reggenza. E' sposato colla nobile Eva Costa, figlia del deputato Luigi, morto nel 1874, e della nobile Antonietta Faraggiana di Sarzana. Essendo ultima di sua famiglia, ha trasmesso ai figli il nome e lo stemma dei Costa. La famiglia Costa è originaria di Vigevano. Andrea nel 1838 ottenne per se e discendenza l'ascrizione alla nobiltà per maschi e femmine all'infinito. Giacomo Costa fu nel XVIII secolo valoroso poeta e recitatore in Arcadia Aurindo Lunense. I figli di Eva Costa e del cavaliere Paolo eredi del nome e titolo sono: Domenico, sposato il 27 aprile 1916 a donna Costanza Cenci Bolognetti dei principi di Vicovaro, patrizia romana, nobile di Tivoli, nobile di Bologna, nobile dei conti.
