Ya estaban en el Consejo de los Ancianos en 1251. Chiari, con su hijo Salvi, participó en 1260 en la batalla de Monteaperti; este Salvi fue el primero de los treinta y dos prior que el Girolami le dio a la República desde 1282 hasta 1502; Geri di Testa embajador en Gregori XII.
