Otra familia se distinguió de la homónima que floreció hasta 1260, encontrando a Giliotti di Baliotto Girolami entre las filas de Guelph en la batalla de Arbia. Dio a la República cuatro gonfaloniers y trece prior entre 1296 y 1529. Se dividió en el siglo XIV en dos ramas, la primera de las cuales, el famoso legista y senador Zanobi di Zanoli, se extinguió en 1664. De la segunda rama fue embajador de Francesco a Julio II en 1502. Comisionado de Rafael en Poggibonsi; Juan Arzobispo creó a Pablo III; otro Raffaello Arzobispo de Damiata en 1728 y Cardenal en 1743. Hoy no hay noticias de esta familia. D'argento, alla croce di sant'Andrea di nero, accompagnata nel capo da una mitria del campo.

Blasone della famiglia Girolami o «Girolami del Vescovo» in Firenze, Santa Croce, Carro; fonte: "Raccolta Ceramelli Papiani" custodita presso l'archivio di stato di Firenze fasc.2404. Note: Nel Sepoltuario Rosselli lo stemma si trova partito con l'arma della famiglia Covoni (Badia fiorentina, Zanobi Girolami e Cassandra Covoni, sec.XVI). La mitria allude alla presunta appartenenza alla famiglia di san Zanobi, vescovo fiorentino del IV secolo. Nelle Filze di giustificazioni per l'ammissione al patriziato fiorentino di Pietro Zanobi Girolami, 1751, sotto la mitria si trova una croce di Santo Stefano: il richiedente era infatti balì dell'Ordine di Santo Stefano. Ultimo della famiglia, egli lasciò eredi i nipoti, figli di Pier Francesco Covoni.
