La famiglia è ricordata, come dice il Tommasi Forti Fiocca, nella vita di Cola di Rienzo, Cap. 6°, in occasione della cavalcata trionfale di questo tribuno che diede a portare lo stocco, come persona nobile, a Baccio figlio di Jubileo. Ebbero il loro dominio ab antico in un vetusto castello sopra la riva del Tevere, che ancor oggi si chiama col loro nome (Castel Giubileo). Ebbero in Roma gli onori del patriziato ed il sepolcro nella chiesa di San Giovanni della Malva. Estintosi il ramo di Roma, il ramo secondogenito si trasferì ad Acquasparta, ottenendo con Francesco nel 1814 l'iscrizione al Libro d'Oro di Narni. Questa famiglia, a dir dell'Amayden, era sicuramente comprese tra quelle raccolte nel Libro d'oro del Campidoglio. Dalla bibliografia documentata sui manoscritti della Vaticana può rilevarsi il numero relativamente esiguo delle memorie riguardanti le famiglie romane, se si tralasciano le fonti sospette del Ceccarelli,
