Antica ed assai nobile famiglia romana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Secondo quanto ci viene tramandato, la casata trae origine dal nobile e patrizio casato dei Giubilei, i cui membri ebbero il loro dominio ab antico in un vetusto castello sopra la riva del Tevere, che ancor oggi si chiama col loro nome. In ogni modo, tal famiglia, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che hanno reso illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi, nelle professioni liberali ed ecclesiastiche e nel servizio militare. Fra questi, senza nulla levar al valore degli omessi, contasi: Ascanio, dottore in "utroque jure", vivente in Roma, nel 1554; Pietro, proprietario terriero laziale, fiorente nel 1579; D.
