Ancient and very noble Sicilian family, called Giujusa or Gioiosa, of clear and ancestral virtue, which has spread over the centuries in various regions of Italy. The origin of this cognomination, to say the least of authoritative genealogists, should be sought in a dialectal modification of the toponym "Gioiosa Marea" (ME), the birthplace, probably, of a, today unknown, progenitor.
