In seguito a proposta della magistratura civica di Siena del 30 settembre 1837, furono, con rescritto granducale del 15 giugno 1838, ascritti al ceto nobile di quella città i professori Francesco Ranieri e Giuseppe Antonio e il capitano Ferdinando Luigi, figli di Carlo Giulietto, di Francesco, di Lorenzana. Alberto, di Domenico, di Ferdinando, fu con decreto 2 giugno 1927 autorizzato ad usare nel regno il titolo pontificio personale di conte. La famiglia è iscritta nell'Elenco Nobiliare Ufficiale col titolo di Nobile di Siena (maschi e femmine) in persona dei: Discendenti da Carlo, di Giuseppe, di Carlo. Discendenti da Domenico, di Ferdinando Luigi, di Carlo. Altro ramo. Ramo di un omonima famiglia senese. Domenico di Ferdinando, fu senatore del Regno. Suo figlio Alberto ebbe cospicue onorificenze per aver occupato i primari uffici tanto che S.S. Pio X con Breve del 14 agosto 1907 lo insigniva del titolo di conte. Altro ramo.
