Glauchau, ville du Königr. La Saxe sur le Zwickauer Mulde, ancienne propriété et siège ancestral des seigneurs, aujourd'hui comtes de Schönburg, résidence des lignées encore florissantes, mentionnée dès le XIIe siècle et très tôt dotée de la ville. Sur les timbres plus anciens, le W. est une tour au décor grotesque couvert de toutes sortes de fioritures, se terminant par deux pointes qui portent des boutons et des drapeaux ; sur des timbres plus récents, on voit un mur érigé en pierre de taille avec une porte ouverte, au-dessus de laquelle s'élève une haute tour carrée à 2 fenêtres et un toit en pente; sur les deux pignons de cette dernière se dressent des boutons à drapeaux. La tour sur les deux représentations est de côté, à droite des armoiries de Schönburg, divisée trois fois en diagonale à droite par Roth et Silber, à gauche par une demi-lune. Les couleurs

Im J. 1562 ertheilte der Grundherr, Erzbischof Sigismund von Magdeburg dem Flecken" genannten Orte ein besonderes Wappen, welches nach dem Wappenbriefe in einem getheilten Schilde bestand, dessen obere Hälfte roth, die untere silbern war.
