Très illustre maison de la Bretagne, d'une haute antiquité, dont les premiers auteurs connus sont: Olivier, possédait en 1319 des héritages dans les paroisses de Pommeret et Hillion, et est mentionné dans une assiette de biens faite la même année, par Guy de Bretagne à Simon de Montbourcher; Jean, signe l'association pour empêcher l'invasion étrangère en 1379; Guillaume, abbé de Saint-Melaine en 1391; Perrot, employé aux réformations de 1423 à 1441, paroisses de Pleumeleuc, Bédée et Plestan, père de Jean, époux de Jeanne Grignart dont: Olivier, marié à Robine Mandart, auteur des seigneurs de la Besneraye; Bertrand, seigneur du Boismesnard, fils puîné de Jean, vivant en 1460 épouse Isabeau Sauvaget; Jean et Mathurin, conseillers aux Grands-Jours en 1536 et 1538; Bertrand, conseiller aux Grand-Jours en 1537, alloué de Rennes, puis conseiller au parlement en 1554, mort en 1581; Claude, seigneur de la Roche, conseiller au parlement et abbé de Beaulieu, mort en 1608; trois chevaliers de l'ordre, de 1593 à 1619; Gabrielle, héritière de sa maison, dame du palais de la Reine en 1674, épouse en 1663 Jean-François de la Baume-le-Blanc, frère de la duchesse de la Vallière.
