Consorte dei Godfroy della Gran Bretagna; si trapiantò nel Delfinato e di là portossi nel Napoletano nella persona del milite Corrado che, venuto in Italia, cambiò il nome di Godfroy in quello di Goffredi. Stabilito in Cosenza vi ottenne la nobiltà, e il medesimo onore riscosse più tardi in Fondi e in altre città. Da Cosenza i fratelli Pietro e Battista trapiantarono la propria famiglia in terra d'Otranto, e un Vincenzo in Napoli. I Goffredi si trovano feudatarii fino dal tempo di Carlo I d'Angiò. Nel 1318 un Simone venne ascritto come possessore del feudo di S. Agnese. Paolo Vescovo di Aladri e Stefano Vescovo di Catanzaro. Fu costume delle più antiche famiglie, le quali dopo la caduta del Romano Imperio, in quella inondatione de' Barbari, havendo i loro cognomi, sicome gli studi, e altre cose belle smarrito e restati solo con semplici nomi, trarre di nuovo i loro
