Trae origine dall'Aretino e prima ancora dalla Sabina ove si hanno notizie fino dal mille col nome di Flamini. Si distinsero i Flamini nella celebre battaglia di Campaldino. La famiglia è iscritta nel Libro d'Oro col titolo di Patrizio di Arezzo (maschi e femmine); Conte (maschio primogenito) per concessione fatta dall'Imperatrice Maria Teresa il 27 febbraio 1767 confermata il 27 marzo 1769 e riconosciuta con rescritto Granducale Toscano il 23 settembre 1791. (Decisione del Ministero di Grazia e Giustizia del 3 luglio 1915). E' rappresentata dal conte Goretto, dottore in legge, della Corona d'Italia, ufficiale mauriziano, cavaliere della Legione d'Onore, della Corona del Belgio e del Sol Levante. Figli: Flaminia, nata il 17 ottobre 1905 e Luca, 3 dicembre 1907 nonchè dalla sorella Nella, vedova del naturalista ed esploratore professore Edoardo Beccari.
