O notário Sulpicio Gorra, um homem rico da vila de S. Remi, recebeu o duque Carlo-Emanuele I em sua casa e teve muito cuidado para torná-lo bem servido na montanha em uma jornada que esse príncipe fez ao Grand-San-Bernardo, e ele também o seguiu em seu retorno a Turim. Em consideração a essa cortesia, ele foi enobrecido com cartas de patentes em 10 de julho de 1590. O mencionado Sulpício foi então se estabelecer em S. Orso d'Aosta, onde era comissário do priorado, recebeu burguesia e foi prefeito. Antonio, seu filho, era, em 1596, porta-estandarte da companhia de Gignod e prefeito da vila de Aosta. Não temos notícias dessa família desde o século XVIII. A presença do lema na bibliografia documentada da família confirma a nobreza ancestral da família.
