The Gozzoni family is very ancient and noble, originally from Offagna. Bartolomeo Cavaliere di Malta, and Commendatore of S. Agata di Fermo in 1450. Gozzone podestà of Macerata in 1432; and Baccalino, a famous captain in the service of the Aragonese house, who then became lord of Osimo his homeland, where he supported the memorable siege against the troops of Innocent VIII led by Giovanni Giacomo Trivulzo.
