Originaria di Ceres. Gaspare d'Antonio, presidente e generale delle finanze, fondò l'eremo di Lanzo ed acquistò i feudi di Marcenasco, Carpeneto e parte di Orio. Tommaso di lui figlio fu pure presidente e generale delle finanze, e nel 1682 acquistò il marchesato de la Roche. Il fratello di questo, Marcantonio, fu primo elemosiniere di Madama Reale e abate di Entremont. Ignazio-Maurizio, figlio di Tommaso, fu presidente del senato di Piemonte, ed un Graneri (di cui non ricordiamo il nome) dopo essere stato inviato a Roma, a Vienna e a Madrid fu Ministro dell'Interno verso la fine del XVIII secolo. La presenza del motto nella bibliografia documentata della famiglia ci conferma l'avita nobiltà raggiunta della casata. Motto della famiglia: Ut seres metes.

D'azzurro, alla fascia accompagnata in capo da un castello torricellato di tre pezzi, in punta da tre spighe di grano impugnate; il tutto d'oro. Cimiero: La figura della Dea Cerere impugnante una roncola nella destra, e un mazzo di spighe di grano nella sinistra.

Graneri (o Raneri) originari di Torino. Citato in "Dizionario storico blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane estinte e fiorenti" vol.I, pag. 495-496, compilato dal Comm. G.B. di Crollalanza, edito presso la direzione del giornale araldico, Pisa 1888.
