Familia originaria de Trentino, establecida en el siglo XVIII en Ferrara y dividida en dos ramas que aún están floreciendo: una ciudadana y otra, a la que se le otorgó el título de comital en 1778. Esta última rama reconoce como su jamba Hércules, que estaba claro abogado, auditor de Rota, autor de valiosos consejos legales, murió en 1766. Su hijo Ippolito, doctor en derecho, fue elegido Vicario General de Ferrara y Obispo de Città della Pieve, donde murió en 1754. Stefano fue adscrito a la primera orden del Consejo Centumviral, se convirtió en Juez del Savi en 1780 y murió en 1800. Otro Ercole, distinguido poeta literario, amante de las bellas artes, fue nombrado Caballero de la Orden del Piano. Los hijos del mencionado Hércules fueron Stephen y Albinus, quien a su vez fue el padre de Hércules que se casó con la condesa Giulia Trotti, y tuvo dos hijos, Albino y Rodolfo, y que murió hace unos años. Otra rama Familia antigua y noble originaria de Bolonia.
