Die Familie stammt aus Castrocaro, von wo er nach Valtellina und von hier nach Rom zog, wo er Landwirtschaft betrieb. 1823 erwarb er das 1832 von Papst Gregorio XVI. Zur Baronie erhobene Gut Castelporziano zugunsten von Vincenzo. Ferdinando II. Von Neapel investierte 1851 das Lehen von S. Croce di Maiano mit dem Titel eines Herzogs, Vincenzo selbst, der bereits am 24. September 1843 mit einer Senatskonsultation den römischen Adel erhalten hatte. Don Pio, Sohn von Vincenzo und Marianna Londei, heiratete Donna Caterina von den Herzögen Lante della Rovere, von der der Herzog Don Mario Donna Nicoletta von den Fürsten Bandini-Giustiniani und den Baron Giulio heiratete, der seinen Nachnamen Lante della Rovere hinzufügte. Die Familie ist im Goldenen Buch mit den Titeln des römischen Adligen (mf.), Baron von Castelporziano (m.), Duca (sn) (mpr.) Registriert. Es wird dann als Grazioli Lante Della Rovere in der Person von Giulio, dem Bruder von Mario
