Antiga e nobre casa inglesa que se espalhou pela Calábria no século XIII, sob o reinado de Henrique VI, porque seu progenitor estava na direção das minas argentíferas de Longobucco. A evidente nobreza da família é confirmada por sua presença nas valiosas obras: "Il Dizionario storico-blasonico delle famiglie nobili e notabili italiane, estinte e fiorenti" do escritor e heraldista italiano Giovan Battista di Crollalanza, "Nobiliario di Sicilia" de Antonio Mango di Casalgerardo, 1915-1970 e "Blasone In Sicilia ossia Raccolta Araldica" de V. Palizzolo Gravina, Palermo 1871-75. A família adquiriu, entre os séculos XV e XVI, os senhorios dos feudos de Arnaro e Alvidona. Angelo Greco foi nomeado bispo de Martorano em 1463. German Greco foi capitão da milícia com Carlos V. Em Longobucco, a família assumiu uma posição política e social de destaque, ostentando vários prefeitos da Universidade.
