Ancienne et noble famille suisse, avec résidence principale à Hallau, une commune du canton de Schaffhouse, de vertu claire et ancestrale, qui s'est répandue dans toute l'Europe au cours des siècles. Comme indiqué dans "Johann Siebmachers allgemeines großes und vollständiges Wappenbuch", une série de livres héraldiques en plusieurs volumes d'armoiries ou d'armoiries de la noblesse du Saint Empire romain germanique, cette noble maison a déménagé à Hallau depuis Donaueschingen, une ville allemande de la Forêt-Noire. au sud-ouest du Bade-Wurtemberg. On pense donc que cette famille a été admise au "Briefadel" (lit.
