Antigua y noble familia siciliana, de origen griego, conocida como Grisafi o Crisafi, que se ha extendido por todo el mundo a lo largo de los siglos. El antepasado atribuido tradicionalmente a la familia Crisafi es el general bizantino Giorgio Maniace (998-1043). De hecho, la familia tomó su nombre de su hijo, Crisafo, quien se quedó con su esposa Teopapa en Siracusa, debido a su rebelión contra el emperador Constantino IX Monomaco.
