Antica famiglia, detta anticamente Fioroni per il fiorone che innalzava nell'arma, oriunda di Mandello (Milano). Nel 1400 andò a stabilirsi in Ravenna, con un Pietro. Battista, suo figlio, fu colonnello di fanteria al servizio della Repubblica veneta e si coprì di tanto onore da meritarsi la carica di Castellano della Rocca che, in quel tempo, i Veneziani eressero in Ravenna, oltre al grado di Governatore della stessa città, e nel 1641 ebbe il privilegio della esenzione dai dazi, per sé ed i suoi discendenti. Pietro, figlio di quest'ultimo, nel 1648 ebbe da Federico III d'Austria il titolo di Conte e Cavaliere Imperiale. Pietro, di Francesco, nel 1512 fu Vicario e Podestà di Russi; il di lui figlio Battista nel 1530 fu aggregato al nobile Consiglio di Ravenna e più volte fu membro dei Magistrato dei Savi; Gregorio e Cesare, suoi fratelli, l'uno fu familiare del Cardinale S. Vitale ed ottennero
