Ancient and noble family of Eaton, near Chester in Cheshire, of clear and honored nobility, which has spread over the centuries in different regions of the globe. The family managed to put together considerable wealth, thanks to the skilful and well thought out relationships, contracted by marriage, the last of which was that of Sir Thomas Grosvenor, 3rd Baronet, who, thanks to his wife (1676) had come into possession of vast lands outskirts of London, which later became the West End district.
