Famiglia d'origine parmigiana, nobilitatasi negli impieghi pubblici e di corte. Giambattista de Grupicos, per benemerenze verso il patrimonio ducale e copia di beni propri fu assieme al fratello Giuseppe con privilegio del 21 marzo 16844 creato nobile dal duca di Parma; Marcello e Francesco Maria con privilegio del 25 aprile 1718 furono creati dal duca conti coi discendenti maschi. Un Odoardo nel 1682 ebbe una patente ducale di famigliarità, una simile ottenne un Alessandro nel 1714, un conte Odoardo fu nominato questore della ducal Camera di Parma il 4 aprile 1749, un conte Giambattista era maggiordomo della real Casa nel 1791. Lo stemma è tolto dal vol. "Feste per le nozze di D. Ferdinando di Borbone del 1769".
