Drei Brüder dieses Hauses verließen ihre Heimat Flandern, zogen im 17. Jahrhundert nach Italien und ließen sich in Neapel nieder. Dort übten sie den Markt aus, von dem sie ein riesiges Vermögen zogen, über das Antonio, der Sohn und der Enkel der vorherigen, kaufen konnten die Stadt Santa Severina in Kalabrien, über der er vom König den Titel eines Herzogs erhielt, den er an seine Nachkommen weitergab. 1672 trat diese Familie dem römischen Patriziat bei und wurde dort am 15. November 1734 erneut bestätigt. Neben dem Herzogtum Santa Severina genoss die Herrschaft der Lehen von Conca, Santomauro, Scandalo und Sperlunga. Antonio Bischof von Thiene und Beichtvater der Königin von Neapel.
